Yo Drew! Please tell us about yourself.
For those of you that don't know my name is Andrew Ragnauth from FabulousSoundz. I also go by the nickname Drew which is where the infamous "Yo Drew!" was created from. I currently live in Ontario Canada.
That's awesome! How long have you been in your respective industry?
Music has always been a part of my story, it was first introduced to me by my Dad. He was a DJ in Guyana. I then played in a band along side my brothers starting at the age of 11 called the FabulousKrew. I continued by studying music formally at Metalworks Institute and graduated with a degree in Music Production and Business Management. After school I continued producing music but mainly in the Hip Hop and R&B genre.
What are you inspired by?
There are a lot of things that have inspired me over the years but ultimately it was a handful of people that truly encouraged me to keep taking my music seriously. Apart from my father, Steven Lokanan introduced me into producing music and the love I have for playing Keys. As a young child he was one of my biggest inspirations and also an amazing teacher. Another person that inspired me to continue my music not only as a hobby, but on a professional level through schooling was Richard Ramnarine. Im truly grateful to have people around me that motivate me and want to see me strive. Now for my music itself, that inspiration comes from everything and anything around me that moves and speaks to me. The creativity is endless.
Amazing, what sets you apart from someone else in your industry?
For myself I think the factor that sets me apart from others in the industry is my drive to sound different. The West Indian Industry has a sense of familiarity with its music. My goal is to try and set myself apart from that by introducing different sounds and a fusion of genres within my sound.
